Keedgo allows multiple ways of managing the sign-in/out process:
- The first distinction is whether the sign-in/out process is activity dependent. If the structure of your program is simple and does not entail distinct activities (classes, sessions, special events, etc) within a single day or within a given period of time, then you would probably choose to use our activity-independent sign-in/out. In this case, you don't need to set up activities to perform sign-in/out. Staff members, if they have the corresponding permission, can perform sign-in/sign-out from their mobile devices or roster members (parents or students, if they were invited to the app) can sign in a shared tablet, using their unique pin numbers. Refer here for activity-independent sign-out.
- If activity scheduling is important for your program, then, when setting up your activities (refer here), check the 'Sing in/Sign Out' box:
- The sign-in/out can involve parents (see below) but in all scenarios all sign-in/out actions can be managed by staff members, if they have the corresponding permission (refer here), from their mobile devices. From the detailed activity view they can open Sign In/Sign Out and perform all corresponding actions for the entire roster. For every sign-in/out action by staff members there will be a stamp generated (time, staff member name) and a detailed report can be generated in the Keedgo web app for any period of time. This method does not require a central tablet.
- Do you have a shared tablet? If the answer is yes, then you can let your parents sign out on the shared tablet using one of these three options: a) Sign out panel, b) Sign out list, c) Sign out panel by name.
The sign out panel requires parents entering their unique pins which they received during the initial sign up process and which they can find in User Info.
The Sign Out list displays all kids signed in and a parent can locate his/her child visually from the list or by using the search bar.
The sign out panel by name requires parents to enter their child's name.
The choice between the tree shared tablet sign-out option entails a trade off between security and convenience. For example, because the sign-out panel requires parents to enter their pin numbers, there will inevitably be situations where a parent forgets his/her pin number and a staff member has to help (see step 3 above). With the sign out list, there is no need for pins so the sign out process is faster.
Allowing parents to sign out from their own devices
Do you want your parents to be able to sign out from their phones? If yes, please check the corresponding box when setting activities:
If you check "Require members to be at activity location for sign out", the Keedgo will app will detect the users' location and will allow them to sign out only if it's near the activity location (which is set at the group level unless set uniquely at the event level).
When you allow parents to sign in/out from their devices, they would open in their Keedgo app the current event and sign in or out:
