Keedgo's messaging features are very easy to use. Note that the ability to message is one of the permissions assigned to staff (refer here). Staff without messaging permissions cannot send nor see any messages.
You can message:
- Everyone in the group (all members/parents and staff)
- Staff only
- Individual parents or staff
- A sub-group of parents based on manual selection or custom attributes (refer here for custom attributes)
Messaging can be initiated in the main messaging tool and also in other places in the app, for example, the individual roster pages:

Similarly, parents can initiate messaging to all staff from the main messaging tool, to individual staff members from the roster page or they can use the messenger icon to reply to all staff to various interactions (events, announcements, documents, etc), in which case the start of the message will be auto-populated to capture the relevant context.
Here's the parent view of the main messaging tool:
Messaging everyone in the group
Messaging everyone is similar to announcements. Use Announcements (refer here) if you want to supplement your communication by email and sms notifications and if your update needs to be more easily discoverable (i.e. in the list of announcements) in the future.
Only staff with Group Admin permission can send a message to everyone in the group. The app will show who's seen the message.
Because Keedgo doesn't allow 'reply to all', such message threads are read-only for the rest of the group. However, parents can reply to the sender or all staff:
When users are offline
Keedgo detects if users are offline (logged out of the app) and automatically sends the message to these users by email.
Note that as part of their privacy settings, parents can enable or disable other parents from messaging them. But staff can always message parents. Keedgo does not allow any reply options that involve multiple parents (i.e. group chats).
